I created the worst political system ever where you sign up for life. High walls are not to keep others out but to keep you in, we lure you with the promise of work and housing, not knowing that you will work for peanuts and that there is no quitting as that will result in the end of your life. Every aspect of your life is under our control, who you marry, your job title, your status. My dark humor can play with the idea of being a powerful puppet master controlling my little pawns, corrupting their ways of life and making them dependent on my generosity.
