Upon looking at the different briefs, Electrocom stood out for me, for multiple reasons, but as we all know, South Africa experiences loadshedding, which was a major concern amongst all people of South Africa. Questions that frequently pop up in conversations are, "Did you get an inverter yet?" or "How long is this going to continue?".
With elections around the corner, somehow loadshedding got the back seat. Now, my approach with the designs was to create something eye catching, yet simple. Old school mixed with futuristic elements. Almost like South Africa, it tries to keep up with the world, but struggles to stay afloat, because we are stuck in our "old school" ways of thinking.
Also, I tried to keep it realistic in a way, as if it was something you could see appear in the near future, who knows, we might get rid of loadshedding after all.
