Having entered the competition before, I was apprehensive to take on the CNAZ theme. After brainstorming and experimenting I decided to have some fun with the theme and translate the clever copy writing into a satirical visual style which encapsulates the theme. The skeletons represent the government in the scenario, greedy and willing to get their hands on the gold, gambling with our votes and livelihood. The rats represents the masses, overlooked and left to be satisfied with the scraps that fall off the table. I used purple and yellow which contrast well with each other to give a sense of mystery and the smoke patterns represents dishonesty. The electric turquoise color is used to accent and attract the eye of the viewer. There are a few more subtle hints in the work and I hope that the viewers enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
